On behalf of the Pleasant Grove High School Fine Arts Department, we would like to thank everyone for their time and efforts to make this year’s production of  ”Beauty and the Beast” spectacular.  Because of your contribution, we were able to raise approximately $3000 for the Performing Arts Fund. As part of our fundraising goal this year, we hoped to make enough money to maintain and secure our beautiful proscenium at PGHS. Due to the funds raised, the following is what we were able to accomplish  Between the beginning of this school year and now, much work has been done in an effort to save our proscenium. Alpine School District had a team of engineers evaluate the structural integrity of the proscenium and draft some solutions for reinforcement. Those reinforcements have been completed. Also, a product was found that would satisfy the local fire code in flame treating the proscenium. Supplies were purchased and a student offered to help flame treat the proscenium as part of an Eagle project. Armed with eight gallons of flame retardant, six gallons of paint, three sprayers and a team of approximately 24 people, we went to work. Fourteen hours later, the proscenium had a new coat of flame retardant paint and all surfaces, including the fabric panels, were treated.
